Attention International Students:
Want to study in the U.S. but don’t have a TOEFL score? Begin—or continue—your American academic journey at Woodbury University’s Transition English Language Program (TELP)!
You may be admitted to Woodbury University without a qualifying TOEFL or IELTS score, if you agree to begin your studies in the intensive English (or ESL) program called TELP.
Woodbury University, the second oldest institution of higher education in Los Angeles, is located on a small, picturesque campus in beautiful Burbank, California. Approximately 1,600 students attend the university, which allows small classes (15 to 20 students per class).
By studying in the TELP program, you will sharpen your English skills while working towards a degree in a dynamic field like Architecture, Business Management, Graphic Design, or Animation.
In addition, you have opportunities to meet with an advisor in your major from your first semester on campus. By working with this advisor, and with TELP’s talented and experienced ESL professionals, you will create an academic study program tailored to your specific needs and interests.
At the beginning of your first semester on campus, you will take the TELP program’s placement tests, which measure your English skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. High scores in an area (e.g., speaking) mean you may take fewer ESL classes in that area, and in general, that you may enroll in a combination of ESL and university classes. For these reasons, TELP is an accelerated program.
Our curriculum emphasizes English preparation, plus essential vocabulary, concepts, and skills relevant to your major and American universities. Our curriculum, plus your hard work, is what you need to succeed.
