Hey, I’m Aarti Patel, a 2nd year Architecture student here at Woodbury University from Bombay, India. Starting college at Woodbury, I was really excited but the workload could get overwhelming. Being a small campus, I feel like there are lot of opportunities for students to get involved into various clubs and organizations.

Apart from school, I am a very adventurous person and love to travel. One of the reasons why I chose to study in the USA was my love for exploring new places and cultures. Starting a new life by yourself in a new country can  be difficult and that’s one of the reasons I chose to be an IPA. Having an IPA can be very beneficial as they have been through the same process you are and will be going through. I am excited to share my experiences and knowledge with the new International Students.

Hi there, I'm Dieu Hoang, and "Zio" would be the correct way to pronounce my first name. I was born and raised in Vietnam. I am now a 5th year Architecture student at Woodbury. It is my honor to be one of your International Peer Advisors this semester! I am a foodie, and the fact that I love cultures and love to explore new things in life makes me an expert in food. I know where the finest restaurants in town are located. So if you also love food, I should be in your contact list! I enjoy socializing and getting to know people from different backgrounds. And so far, I have been so blessed to meet and get to know so many beautiful spirits from so many different countries through the IPA program. And it's been such an honor to be a part of their experience in the U.S.

I am now in my last year of architecture, and also my 4th year of being in the IPA program. Thus, I want to use all the experiences and knowledge I have gained so far to assist you and to ensure that you will have the best college experience ever at Woodbury!

Contact me anytime of the day, ask me any questions, or even if you feel like you need to talk to someone, talk to me! The IPAs are here for you!

IPA: Emma Ghalechyan
Major: Business
Class Level: Grad student
Country of Origin: Armenia

I was born in Hungary, grew up in Armenia, studied in Russia in the Modern Institute of Humanities (Bachelors in Economics), and presently residing in US to get my Masters Degree in Business Administration.

My work experience is mainly in finance including 12 years as senior financial officer in a Russian company named “International Power Corporation” CJSC, and I was also a shareholder in a small coffee & snack family business called “Panda Vending” in Armenia.

The Student Leader IPA position seemed very attractive to me by it’s opportunity to effect positive changes in  the Woodbury Community. First of all, shaping students lives by providing help and important information, which can ease their daily routine and erase the “fear of unknown” of newcomers, mainly International Students’. Secondly, the personalized approach to each Woodbury community member in academic excellence and integrity makes everyone feel valuable and special, blossoming individual talents and positive attitudes in the community. Finally, our Student Leader group builds Woodbury’s prestige by empowering people to do extraordinary things.
